Cortisol is our “stress” hormone, released when triggered by stimulating events in our lives.
Cortisol is actually very good for us as it helps us stay productive and leap into action when we think our glass of water is about to spill or child is running into the street.
However, in our non-stop world, almost all women (and men) produce WAY too much. Not good.
I take Cortistop during times of high stress. When under stress the body produces cortisol (the stress hormone) which when too much is produced wreaks havoc on our immune systems, contributes to fatigue, weight gain, and overall moodiness.
So, what is in Cortistop that makes it so awesome?
- Pregnenolone, which is the precursor hormone from which all other hormones are created – and is important for the body’s production of progesterone, which blocks cortisol receptors!
- Phosphatidylcholine which supports brain function.
- Phosphatidylserine which supports cognitive function.
- Black Cohosh Extract which supports estrogen production which counteracts the higher cortisol levels.
- DHEA which is derived from wild yam and is another important hormone for progesterone production.
- Canadian Fleabane supports hormone function and combats high cortisol levels.
- Clary Sage supports hormone function and contains natural sclareol, a phytoestrogen that mimics estrogen function.
- Fennel combats excessive cortisol and supports gut health and the pancreas.
- Frankincense supports the immune system and well is just the granddaddy of oils.
- Peppermint which also supports the hormones.
